What I love most about this image is lack of any kind of hints as to the proportions and size of the pieces: Without much work I was able to imagine that I'm standing in front of a huge sea of magma, and that instead of being a few meters across, those hot areas were many many kilometers across, and that the entire planet is heaving in throes of fire. very nice.
