Taken at Badwater Basin, Death Valley. The lack of any animal noise makes you strain to hear any sounds. Hopefully this picture conveys how barren the land is.

The image does convey that silence. I find the angle a little off-putting, even though I think it is an optical effect, rather than a lack of camera level. Good composition with the sky.
