Here's a LINK to the first image. Frames have their uses, but I think the one in the other image is just too overpowering and detracts from the image. The flower itself is not very focused. The intention was good and the composition is good too, as are the colors.

I don't really care for the frame. But my comment on this picture or the original wouldn't have been the frame. To look at this the biggest thing that stands out when you blow it up, is it isn't sharp. It doesn't seem intentionally blurry, as if you were making an artistic choice to have some blurred out effect. The flower which is the focal point of the picture isn't sharp. The color is nice, the composition is great. But your subject isn't strong enough.

I agree that it is out of focus, but I actually like it. It seems alive..... with those things reaching out.

well thanks, I do what I can with what I have... But I do see that its blurry... I really wish I could take another shot, but sadly all those flowers were killed by the cold streak a few days ago... So sad. I thank you all for your comments tho!!!

Lovely vibrant colours and great angle for this close up. It is sad that it is slightly blurry, and that the flowers have passed, but there is always next year to recapture their beauty.
Meanwhile, try your skills out on other flowers and plants...you certainly have the arty talent to bring them to life in your images. Keep posting...Jacquie
