This is a photo from the 9th Ward in New Orleans yesterday. Reg (regmar) and I took a small trip thru parts of the city most affected by Katrina. The jacket reads "State Quarter Finalists Basketball 1983-1984". The barge in the background was left in this neighborhood after the flood waters went away. It sits across an intersection of streets with no signs of ever moving.

very atmospheric photo indeed - shame the progress is so slow in fixing up the damage in the city.

This is a excellent image. it reminds me of something you may see sfter a nuke went off.
Very deppressing but a great capture. A shame how slow the wheels of the system work.

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

i like the black against the white in the image, and the sun rays.

Horrifically sad Dj..another powerful iamge that conveys the pitifully slow response by the government as well as the immense destruction that Katrina provided to New Orleans. We need not forget all those affected. Thank you amigo :)

Hi DJ. This is damned good my friend. The sun rays give this a real desolate look, and the juxtaposition of the jacket and the brick and the barge is a really good effect. Our trip the other day was a real inspiration to me. We shall have to do it again.
