Hi Philip Thanks for your compliment on Zyagena Butterfly 2 - the close-up. I did a lot of attempts to get a good picture of this small b-fly, sometimes using a tripod (!). This one didn´t fly away as quickly as many others and after 50-60 shots I got two pictures I was pleased with. I´m glad you liked the result. -- Arne --

Thank you for checking out my other pictures too. I was dissappointed with Colorful unknown because of it's clarity. But it was the only one of that kind of butterfly I had. It flew the coop after that shot not to be found again. I liked the Red admiral except for the background. On Blue Morpho you are right. Pictures were taken in direct sunlight. It was just that time of day. I got a couple of other Blue Morpho's on leafs, but the colors just didn't seem as good to me. I'm not sure why that picture turned out like it was overly sharpened. I even softened it some in the computer before posting. I really am thinking about getting another camera. What do you recommend? I have been doing some research to determine what will suit my needs best. I like to take a lot of macro shots and action.

Philip, thank you very much indeed for your extremely constructive and most helpful suggestions and advice. If you continue, I hopefully might get somewhere ... I use flash and my camera is SONY Cyber-shot [as it was one of the cheapest, it cannot be anything professional I suppose]. Loving photography and painting and other fine arts, I will proceed with working and improving my, alas, poor skills of a late beginner LOL. Thanks once again and please do not leave me struggling alone and trying to break lots of open doors.

Good Morning Philip,
Itr is nice to see that you are back looking at my images. I have missed your comments. O.K. no more vignettes, I promise. I was using an 18 mil. lens at it's widest focal length to attempt to obtain the full peak. When I viewed this image, and several others, I noticed the vigneted corners. I decided to post one to see if it was liked or not. Your post gave me the answer. Thanks for being truthful.

Thank you Phillip for the kind comments on "Frozen Pond Water ". I'm pleased you like it.

The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

Hello, my name is Naomi. I was wondering if I could use your images for my layouts at http://www.xanga.com/Simply_Lov3able_Layouts? I made a layout using your CD Water Drops image; URL to layout: http://www.xanga.com/lov3able_layout_93. I gave you credit by linking to your gallery. One link is in the navigational bar, and another in the code itself. I've made layouts with a few other images of yours, but I haven't yet had time to make links to your gallery.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure it was OK to use your images for my layouts. Your images are SO beautiful!

Hi Philip, I spotted one of your pictures on the featured page and loved it so much I had to look at your gallery. You are truly a natural, an amazing photographer, even more so because you are so young. I could comment on all your pictures but it would take me at least a week to write all the comments you deserve. So I will just say you are an A+ and you should consider a career in photography.

Hello Philip,

I just wanted to say that I am very impressed with your work. Absolutely stunning. I want to add your entire portfolio to my favorites. I don't know what other talents and interests you have, but if you didn't become a professional photographer, it would be a great loss. Keep it up. I'm looking forward to what you capture next.
