Thank you for the comment on Pratapgad 2 (fort) verena. It is indeed a very difficult place to reach surrounded by steep hills with a lot of "folds" (hiding places). Glad you liked it!

The rice is hidden behind the meat and potatos, I will try a better angle next time. Noodle rice is rice cooked with egg noodles. Thanks for the encouraging comments, I have been shooting so much and cooking, it gets exhausting, and sometimes you loose concentration and focus and miss the obvious. I will post some more soon. I'm glad to hear that you and your daughter are on here together, my dad actually has an account on caedes as well and got me turned onto this site, its such a nice way to bond!
GIMP is a great way to get started with retouching and photo manipulations, i started out with that program, if you get it, make sure you keep in touch and let me see some of the stuff you do! i'd like to see what you come up with, plus if you have questions, youtube.com has some nice tutorials that will show you how to do things! ;) THank you again for the wonderful comment!

Thanks for your comments on "...umbrella". They do make quite a racket en mass, but it is quite thrilling to see. They usually only take flight when an eagle approaches. Squaw Creek NRW for a time in the early winter has the largest population of eagles in the lower 48 as they follow the easy pickings of the migrating millions.

Thank you for your kind comments on the fence and Multnomah Falls. We were out there June 19th through the 25th for a family reunion at Wallowa Lake in North Eastern Oregon. The light was a bit harsh for very many good pictures at the falls, but it is always nice to see it.

Thank you for your comments to "Sunset Tranquility at Wolf Creek". This picture was taken at Wolf Creek, in the Uintah Mountains, which is in Utah. The Uintah Mountains are very unique, as they are one of the only east-west running mountain ranges in the United States. I don't know what those interesting plants are, but they were the only ones of that kind I saw camping, and I wanted to be sure and get a picture of them.

Verena! Thanks for commenting on my summer stars photo! I actually use a remote or self timer, or set up the camera and have my boyfriend push the button...lol... i love my remote, i have a nikon D60 and my boyfriend ordered the remote from online somewhere but the nikon has a setting for it and you just set the camera to remote and bam! it works! hows things been with you!?

I haven't been around very often this summer, so I'm leaving my message here today.

Dear friend Verena, I will always remember how your constructive comments and warm welcome to new artists took a part in holding this community together, not to mention the joy you have spread across Caedes. Not only a truly inspiring artist, you also did look at artwork in such a unique perspective and always managed to see the soul in each artwork, and you yourself put your heart and talent into your work as well. You will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, I'm sure you're in a much better place now, in the hands of God. :')

Mom, it's been almost a year since you left us. And it hurts still just as much as the day I found you. You were so pretty, I touched your shoulder. You know, I remember cuddling with you in bed when I was little. My arm pillow. :) You were warm, and I remember the scent of vanilla and lavender. I miss you so. Why does it hurt so bad? I drove your car to see the sunset. I played Chris Issak. I think you would be proud. I miss you.

I still keep the last few messages I received from you and I can't help but shed a tear to think how quickly you left :(

We are coming up on 4 years without my beautiful mother, Verena. Please feel free to post photos remembering her on July 8th, especially emphasizing her love of COBALT BLUE and RED (the color of her beloved Cougar). To Mom: You are still alive in everything I do, from paintings to photos, from big growing plants to tiny seedlings. You are my creative muse and I hope with every day that I continue learning that you see me, and am proud that I continue in your creative footsteps. I love you. mama, I miss you with every beat of my heart. Someday we will paint together, we will drive the back roads of life with your camera and laugh once again. You told me once, actually many times, "this too shall pass", and I am holding you to that!! Goodnight, mom. Miss you more than words.
