hey i saw your sig, so i thought i'd help you a little. so you wanna start from scratch, well the only thing that i can teach you is:
-make a new image
-pick your colours (fore-/background colours)
-go to filter>render>clouds
-and then just experiment :)
what i often do is, to create a starbust effect:
-filter>render>clouds
-filter>pixelate>mezzotint:long strokes
-filter>blur>radial blur:zoom, 100, best.
take a look in my gallery, almost every image is done with that, so you can see what different kind of images you can make with only that effect!
i hope this helped you a bit.

Hi! On "End of Summer" I was in the pool in september taking pictures of butterflies and plants around the edge.I happened to look down and see that one dead leaf floating and thought that it was a signal that summer was leaving. I happened to catch a leg in the shot. Thanks for visiting.
