This is my grandmother's super passive-aggressive one:
I don't remember what kind of cake it was, but my grandmother made my grandfather a specific cake for his birthday every year for some 50 plus years. It was a specialty and he always thanked her, but didn't eat his. At some point, it came out that the reason he didn't eat it was because he hated that cake.
A year or 2 later when discussing plans for his birthday, my mother was out shopping with my grandmother as she began to pick up the ingredients for the cake, and she turned to her and said "I don't know if you're aware, but he actually doesn't like that cake". Grandma replied: "Yes, I know". This
left my mother so stunned speechless she was never able to bring the topic up again - but it's now become a famous family story!
