The Department of Homeland Security justifies slashing New York's federal anti-terrorism funding 40% by stating that New York has no National Monuments or Icons.
Wow. I guess the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Wall Street… none of those count. The World Trade Center… oh wait… nm on that one!
Oh… and the Federal Reserve… yeah, there's no way that's a likely target huh?
All this while increasing funding to areas which either really have no national monuments or no buildings over 40 stories to begin w/. Like you know… Louisville Kentucky, Charlotte NC or Omaha Nebraska.
Not that I wanna deny them adequate funds to protect themselves, BUT… Pardon me, as I live in the only city in the U.S. which has twice been the target of successful terrorist attacks in the past 2 decades… anybody have a spare bedroom? I'm not picky!
