Nesting Anhingas Stay Close to Each Other

The anhinga and his mate stay near one other throughout the mating and nesting season. As mean as they are to other birds, they are good to one another. They are in a nest that they stole from the egrets and threw the egret eggs out. Then, the male brought green willow branches to the female to enchant her and embellish the nest. In the 85 degree heat, the willow leaves are now brown.
