Estes Park, Colorado in the early, early Springtime. The almost-horizontal blowing snow started whipping around just as we entered the nature preserve. These colorado "wapiti" elk (cervus canadensis) are really grouchy towards people who disturb thier breakfast (like me), and once they saw me stalking them on their turf they all turned their fluffy butts to me and meandered away.
