Stair Hole at Lulworth Dorset (UK) is world famous in geography books for the Lulworth Crumple, a uniquely folding limestone strata in which the layers of rock are sharply twisted at an incline and fold back on themselves. Whenever I ramble around Stair Hole i am always fascinated by the folds in the rocks and wondering what powers there must have been to create this wonderful formation. Today the area has been declared a World Heritage Site. Now Stair Hole is fenced off and you can only admire the rock formation from a safe distance.
