I like to continue my Pilot Vessels series with a rather static one this time.

Our friend Raj has provided us, in his comment on THIS IMAGE of mine, with THIS LINK. Thanks for that, my friend.

Checking-out this link will show you a video of the transfer of pilots from the Dutch service SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) 'Cetus' to the Dutch Pilot Vessel 'Pollux'. I don't have an image of the 'Pollux' available now, only one of her 'sister' 'Procyon', temporary moored in one of the harbors of Flushing, Zeeland, The Netherlands. There's still another 'sister', called 'Polaris'.

The 'Pollux', 'Procyon', and 'Polaris' are rather new Pilot Station Vessels.

The 'Procyon' will, together with her two 'sisters', operate along the Dutch coast in order to ensure the safe and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing traffic in the Dutch and Flemish ports on the Western-Scheldt. The vessels are primarily designed to be a mothership which can remain operational for a very long period of time, under all kinds of circumstances that may arise in the Dutch sector of the North Sea in order for bringing on board and removal of the registered pilots.

To make the story complete (☺) , I'll provide you with a link of THIS VIDEO, showing the transfer from the Dutch Pilot Tender 'Lynx' to the Pilot Station Vessel 'Procyon' at the 'Steenbank station' position.
