This image - showing a part of a forest at the northern part of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands - wasn't taken in the fall, but at the end of the summer of this year (2018).

May have a somewhat misleading impression because the trees were already shedding the leaves because of the extremely drought and heat that we had to deal with the whole summer.
