Referring to the narrative of THIS POST here a more detailed photograph of the former ferry 'Koningin Emma' ('Queen Emma').
Before the Second World War, Zeeland, The Netherlands, consisted mainly of islands (now peninsula's). Ferries were needed for the transport of people, animals and goods.
Until the mid-1930s, this was done with paddle steamers. Because they became worn out and the volume of transport increased, they had to be replaced. The 'Koningin Emma' (depicted here) was one of them. This ship was in service from 1933 - 1965. After 1965 the ship wasn't demolished, but was given various other functions. After recently being renovated, it's now a floating small hotel with 10 luxury hotel rooms, moored at one of the quays in Flushing, and a participant (ship was open to the public) of the mini maritime festival that was hold in begin June of 2024.
