This is the second one of a mini series.

Because of the end of the DST (Day Saving Time) on October 25th, 2025 the clock was turned back one hour in most of the European countries. In Middelburg, a city in Zeeland, The Netherlands one took this opportunity to have a wonderful dark event downtown: called the N8vdN8 (in Dutch: Nacht van de Nacht; in English: Night of the Night).

Numerous activities took place in the darkened city center. Storytellers, street performers, musicians, (light) artists, entrepreneurs, dancers, entertainers... everyone was working to highlight the importance of darkness.

With this picture I'll try to show you an impression of this event.

The color in this photograph appears somewhat unusual. However, it is the actual color seen. The cause was that the streetlights were turned off, and the surrounding area was artificially illuminated only by the light emitted by the bird carried by the stilt-walker.
