This image shows a winter scene at the 'Museumplein' (Museum Square) in Amsterdam. During the winter holidays the square (situated at the rear side of the Rijksmuseum) is often transformed into an ice skating rink, surrounded by festive decorations.

The image features the iconic Rijksmuseum in the background too. The Rijksmuseum is a world-renowned Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history, founded in 1885 and designed in a mix of Gothic and Renaissance styles.
