The station was constructed between 1895 and 1905 and is widely recognized as one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. Possibly therefore it's also popularly known as the 'Railway Cathedral' due to its architectural design.
The stations serves as a major transportation hub, connecting Antwerp with various European cities, including direct train services from The Netherlands.
