...This is the largest square in the Old Town of Salzburg, surrounded by the residence of the former prince-archbishops and the "New-Residence". The Residenzbrunnen (fountain) in the centre was created by Italian sculptor Tommaso di Garona (1656-61) and is said to be the largest and most beautiful Baroque fountain outside of Italy. Next time I visit I hope to see the fountain working. In the centre you can also see the horses and carriages - remember the photograph of the two horses I posted entitled "Did I tell you lately that I love you"?
