if you've never seen these in person...they are VERY small...{ they grow about approx 2 inches wide/tall--just my guesstimate}....and are very commonly used here in Florida as "BAIT" by fishermen. If you are lucky enough to find them in areas that there are no fishermen, they are not as shy, and you can watch them in hordes...swarming like a mass exodus. Most places I find them, the crabs are very aware of the dangers of PEOPLE and hide FAST. Yesterday I found a place people do not go..and they were so unbothered by me that they scuttled across my shoes as I was snapping pics of them. This one STOPPED being "afraid"...and did not threaten me with that large pincher claw after a few minutes...so I thank this little guy for the time and posing he did..:)
