I was working in Malmesbury today and during lunch sneaked off to see the abbey. This structure dates back to the 12th century and at its greatest was 3 times this size! The original timber structure this replaces was founded in 6th century! [Malmesbury is one of the oldest boroughs in England]. The Mill is no longer in operation - but the River Avon most certainly is! In full spate after heavy rain; good job I had me wellies on;o)
