I found this new mother clinging to my glass outside door, not really noticing the tiny speck about a half inch away from her head. I slid the inner door panel open a bit to make sure she wasn't caught between the panels, and closed it again and went back to editing more oldies. About an hour later I checked to see if she was still there, and noticed a glint of something from the speck a half inch away from her head. It took a magnifier to confirm it was a new life. I used a Macro lens and flash to get a few shots. The background is the lake, well out of focus. The youngster was about the size of a small black ant. They were there for about four hours from the time I noticed them, and I'm guessing it was allowing the wings to dry thoroughly. An interesting experience, as the little one was about 1/8th the size in this picture.
