As you can see the newly opened clematis is really a cream color with lots of olive green. As it matures it becomes white with just some slight green left in the petals. And further along the center will open into what looks like another whole flower entirely. Usually seen in pinks, purples or blue the white is more uncommon. This was taken in the English Walled Garden within the Chicago Botanic Garden. All comments appreciated.
