A daisy-like plant grown as an annual now. From the aster family - it originally occured from low-altitude sands to alpine meadows in South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Angola. Additionally, species are now naturalized in Australia, New Zealand, the Mediterranean, and California. Mostly seen in yellow and red-orange but hybridizers are now producing purple-yellow varieties such as this one.
