The upload script appears to "apply" the sRGB profile to images rather than "convert to".
I had this problem with my 1st upload, but was quickly able to figure the problem out when (I'm going to use the phrase again cuz both my dad and my bf* were SOOOO amused by it) the colors flattened out like a cheap air mattress. Converting in Photoshop and reuploading fixed the problem for me, but I was talking with a member last nite who doesn't have PS, and hasn't been able to set the profile on his images.
Methinks he's not the only one (I remember this issue showing up on a thread in the "Non-Art" awhile back), so if the upload script could be changed to open the image using whatever profile is embedded, and then converting to sRGB before saving for upload, it would fix all of that.
Pardon me if I babbled/rambled that, but I just woke up and wanted to get it out before I forgot about doing it altogether.
I use sRGB right out of the camera. Never have to mess with it after that. But then I don't do computer generated art so I don't know the deal on that.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.
