Ok, it's that time of year ... cabin fever is starting to set in ... shallow graves are hard to dig because of the cold (not much room left either in the yard) ... and perhaps you could use a laugh or two.
So, I came upon this site ... made me laugh and if you come across something silly, fun or just plain weird (providing 'it' still abides by the COC) ... post away. There just might be a cookie or two in it for you. :o)
The Mental Patient is truly certifiable. What's even worse is that he probably makes more money than any of us. He makes us all look sane...I like that.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

I got to level ten on the first go... don't know if that's god or not. It couldn't add me to the high scores for some reason.... and I couldn't remember how to bring my dead scarecrows back to life...
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

This year, I have been a very Ritalin-addled little boy. I have compulsively lied, and I have rarely helped my mommy’s “special friend” with their pyramid schemes. And I always say thank you, which makes me seem like I care, and so I deserve lots of presents this year!
Please bring all this stuff for me and the people in my life: For my mommy, please bring the onset of menopause. For my daddy, please bring a new Rogaine prescription. For my big brother, please bring methodone. For my hamster, please bring a homeopathic heartworm remedy. Oh – and for my baby sitter, please bring some worthless tchotchkes.
Now about me! Please bring me all of the Anna Nicole Smith videos, and front row tickets to GWAR – plus backstage passes so I can get airborne Chlamydia! Oh, and please don’t forget to bring my Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0. But if you can’t, just remember that more than anything Santa, what I really really want is just $10,000,000!
Anyway, I hope you like the meatloaf I left out for you.
Sincerely,
Les
PS: Please say Merry Christmas to Ralph, the heartless Elfin slavemaster.
PPS: Oh yeah, and remember *caedes? He has been a really naughty vivisection hobbyist all year long and doesn’t deserve any Christmas presents. So please don’t forget to put coal in his stocking.
Yeah I had fun with that one. We used to have a diary that had a similar "Thankyou" letter in the back to send to relatives for christmas gifts... I don't think you were actually supposed to use it for real... but me and my brother were young and didn't know such things :-P I imagone we had some very confused relo's that year...
From the same stupid website that brought you mistletoe to go. I thought this was just too silly not to share. I just love the fact that somebody actually made this... and that someone might actually buy it.
I so wanna be there, as the proverbial fly on the wall, for the pitch by these developers.
Marketing Executive: "Come on in Fred ... have a seat. So ... what's this thing you been working on?"
Fred: "Wellll, you guys ... hehehe ... best be seated too, 'cause this is going to knock you off your feet ... I present to you ... 'The Vengeful Pony' !!"
Marketing Executive: "Wow, that is great Fred. Really. But, how do feel about a few changes??"
I checked it out...haven't got time for such nonsense. I'm taking an online college course at the University of the Extremely Normal. Majoring in cooking and working on no f@rt chili and scrambled eggs without eggs. My minor is midget wrestling and a dental class: Pulling Your own Teeth 101 ( I especially like the running string thing...it's hard to do without stopping). Now get a life and get edjamucated.

Well I wouldn't have been that impressed that it guessed I was thinking of a gun... but that it knew I was thinking of the gun that shot Mr Burns is rather cool...

Even after registration, you can make your own animation clips on a step-by-step basis almost immediately!
I have only the free account (more elaborate F/X and options are available on the paid versions), but I made (a little foul lingo in it, so don't click it if you can't handle it)this one only within 20 minutes time...
The number of credits granted for simply signing up/registering (it takes X amount of credits per option employed/used in 'your movie production/animation') ... works pretty well for a somewhat unique Birthday greeting, for example.

"Have you ever wanted to create beautiful night photos but it was completely dark when you found the right spot and subject? Well the bluehoursite.com web site will help you by calculating the best time frame for taking stunning blue hour pictures. If you don't know what is "blue hour" then you're in the right place. It refers to the time after the sun goes below the horizon and the sky goes into deep blue for a while. This is the best timing to take photos. You can learn more about this in the articles section by reading the tutorials."
The Photographer's Ephemeris I think I may have recommended this before. It is free for Desktop(Mac/Windows/Linux)and can be purchased for iPad. There are other similar applications but none (imo)so eye pleasing as this one :) Good tutorials as well.
What does it do ? "Landscape photographers typically wish to plan their shoots around the times of sunrise/sunset or twilight, or alternatively when the moon is in a particular place in a particular phase. While times of sunrise etc. are readily available on various sites on the internet (direction of sunrise etc. less so, but still readily found), there are fewer programs available which combine such information with a topographical map allowing the photographer to match the astronomical to the location. A typical use might be to determine when the sun will set along the axis of a mountain valley, or when a full moon rise will rise across a lake. The application uses Google Maps providing users the ability to select a location and determine the time and azimuth of sunrise or sunset for a given date or dates."

I have to limit my eagle watch for a few days - almost used up all my monthly bandwidth!! Watched the father feeding the two chicks this morning and then saw the parents on high alert when a barking dog upset them.

LOL I like Artybollocks. Have chosen my next description. Now looking for an image to match it :)
I have a little difficulty with the "my work" bit - do you think 'my stuff' would be less pretentious? :)
"My work explores the relationship between the universality of myth and UFO sightings. With influences as diverse as Rousseau and John Lennon, new tensions are created from both mundane and transcendant textures. Ever since I was a student I have been fascinated by the theoretical limits of relationships. What starts out as yearning soon becomes finessed into a manifesto of power, leaving only a sense of chaos and the chance of a new reality. As spatial replicas become frozen through diligent and undefined practice, the viewer is left with an insight into the undefined of our existence."

We as artists look upon the world in many different languages. There are those of us who see sadness, pain, suffering. But if we do not occasionally look and see that there is love and laughter, what's the point of looking at all?
I've seen this. Only in Amsterdam... not only that... does the cat look eternally scared or what?
Speaking of "odd" news stories, there have been a fair few zombiesque stories emerging lately... four or five cannibalistic in the last two weeks, and a small child sitting up and asking for a glass of water an hour before he was meant to be buried after being declared dead for a whole day...
I'm a little concerned. Graeme, however, has been inspecting the house checking how zombie-proof it is, giving me explicit instructions on what to do when he gives the command, practising his sword-work and has already asked express permission that when they announce zombies are here, that he can have two minutes celebrating.

Oh Bless poor old Alf ! I'm with the daughter - why did th dog poo emptiers never wonder why there were letters in there. Guess it could have been worse if the dog owners had used the letter box though. That would have been noticed pretty pronto.
