I am having trouble with not being able to post a work that contains nudity.I am not speaking of genitalia-even though that would be ok in my eyes.This is an old problem; it remains problematic as some really fine work could be shown.........thoughts, please?

This has been an old topic. Its a very fine line as to when it is artistic or pornographic in many caedesians eyes, so the mods air on the side of caution.

So it is a subject best left quiet until some form of "adult" filter is implemented. If it is at all.

One of the reasons I posted my works onto this site was BECAUSE the "no nudity clause" was in place here!... If I wanted to do that...I would post elsewhere!

Petition the mods if you wish DERAIN for implementation of a policy. Or better yet ... go here and post a request for that feature and have some faith please ... that the site evolves ... continually ... and I suspect will continue to do so on the merit of a suggestion.

Honey if left unattended turns to vinegar.I do not understand what this is about having to state one's ideas sweetly;read the above one by jhijmoac.Nothing polite about that one and yet no retort. I phrase as I do.Good enough.
Nudity is not profanity or obscene.Educate yourselves WHOEVER you are) if you have a problem with it.The Puritan Age is over-at least for the most part. There are some remarkable photos/art of nudes..............expose yourself to it once in awhile..might enrich you. I intend to do so here on this site occasionally.Curtiebear has in his avatar, for example----and it is a good one.

You are also posting on a site hosted in a society so extremely conservative that the site owner could be theoretically prosecuted and charged with injury or risk of injury to, or impairing morals of, children with a custodial sentence of up to 40 years merely for allowing nude images to be shown indiscriminately on the website. Something to consider whilst you contemplate puritanical censorship. The rules of the code of conduct are in place as much to protect the site legally as it is the viewer.

You asked for some thoughts? ... there they are ... in black and white.

I will reiterate ... post on the thread I suggested. There is a protocol and bucking that will not further your idea.

Is anyone thinking here??? Looks as if skin can be shown,genitals are not allowed.No problem with the latter for me.Or.......... Is showing any skin the problem??

This website is owned by a private individual .. the rules that are in place are in place because that is what the owner wants .. for what ever reason .. he does not need to justify them to you .. your freedoms are only those that have been extended to you in the code-of-conduct

one can't help but wonder why you are posting here .. all you do is claim that you are being persecuted or held back as an artist

Show only nice skin please...no nudity in front of sensitive eyes.

I for one am glad that we don't have any nudity. I joined this site for quality. Nudity doesn't evoke but a feeling of crudity to me.

Tim, I understand your views, opinions,etc. There's a difference between nudity and pornography. Pornography is crude. There's thousands of years of classical works of art that contain nudity. Are they crude? No.

My point is that nudity isn't allowed here for certain reasons. Lack of quality, per se, really is an unfair yardstick to use in this particular instance. Perhaps slightly different phrasing might be more appropriate.

With that, let's end it before this becomes yet another stomping ground for incessant diatribe. and no, Tim, that wasn't referring to you.

There shouldn't be any any strings pulled on the "no nudity clause"...even if the intent WAS of artistic nature...there are far too many others that would post questionable material and say it too, was "artistic"...That would eventually result in the site administrator/owner catching a lot of unneeded flak, as well as risking the site being shut down...Things should be left as they are...Besides, there are hundreds of other sites (both pay sites and free) that can more than satisfy one's need to post nudity or whatever else floats their boat...

If I want nudity I just stand in front of a mirror...that usually sickens me enough that I lose the urge.

The nudity issue has to do with a lack of discernment among certain members of our population (both the site and the world). Rob is quite correct in stating that nudity can be celebrated as a beautiful image that is not crude. I personally am a huge fan of low-light silhouettes, and images that highlight muscle play and lines.

However, I'm all ready to stand behind Monsieur Caedes in his stance. In a society that is so quick to attack, and with the above stated lack of discernment, I see no reason for him to open himself to personal injury. It's HIS website. We just get to play here.

Boy.. people are already up in arms about Robs parrot being pornographic and thats an animal wearing its feathers.. I can just imagine what would happen if there were nudity.. ;o

You got that right Jac........and very well stated Cat! We live in a world that has a hair trigger over anything and everything. *caedes and the mods work very hard to keep this site a safe playground for humans of all ages!!!

The issue isn't about nudity, it's about can you choose to follow guidelines?

Personally, I'm glad that there are those on this site that arbitrate artistic image quality to a basic set of rules.
