Can we please please PLEASE add a line to the welcome paragraph on the front page that simply states "Please be aware that all images on this site are the individual copyrighted property of the artist."
It is a good idea but for the most part - the usual mindset of the image rippers appears to be in the 'this is the internet dude, share and steal alike' bracket so I doubt that any extra measures would deter them from this.
Yeah, but it would add weight to the "clearly visible" argument when we go after the rippers. And there are a few who just genuinely don't know, so any public posting that would help prevent is good in my book.

Here's a trick...most DSLR cameras will allow you to insert your name and copywrite info into the metadata of your pics automatically. Someone says "it's mine all mine" have them look at the metadata...providing you dont' have Windows Vista and got the metadata stripped...kudos Bill you are a true genius.

There's a copyright statement directly below the image itself on the image's home page. If that doesn't stop rippers, then a copyright warning on the front page of the site probably won't either.
If (like me) you're upset about your work getting ripped, put a watermark or a signature visible on the image itself. I don't like doing that, but it WOULD prevent the image from being ripped (probably).
Even the visible signature doesnt stop them... all of the ones that i've had ripped had my sig on it.. they even left it on and still said it was their own work...
it's true - people are often too stupid or blatant to care about that - we have even had people trying to upload images here in the past with other peoples watermarks on. idiots. pond scum. etc etc.

Visible sigs that do not interfere w/the art are a good idea in my opinion.
Apart from that, now that the copyright link is much more visible in the new layout here, I no longer feel that such a blatant statement on the front page is needed. Thanks to *caedes for making it more obvious in the new layout.
