Wanna go Phishing?

I have been locked out of my email accts for a while .. and when I got back in I found a few phishing attempts

I feel all warm and phuzzy

phishing, as you may know, is an attempt to trick you into revealing personal, private account info under some ruse that the document is actually sent by your bank and needs your urgent attention ..

on the off chance that some of you may have never seen this .. or, if you do, in the hopes that reading these will help you snap out of your reverie that all is right with the world .. a CAREFUL reading will catch the 'not-so perfect" spelling & grammar that you would expect from a bank .. it could be as simple as a missing "s" on the end of a word

I present to you .. (with links removed)

Using a 'spam catcher' now, and that catches a lot of it!...

Other that that...I delete the buggers without opening!

I am a good citizen. Whenever I get one of these attempts from a bank I don't have an account with, I forward it to their fraud department. Amazingly (apart from PayPal) I never get one from a bank I DO have an account with.

Other notorious Phishing Scams:

You have not won an International Lottery you never entered.

That person from South Africa trying to get his millions out of the country doesn't really have them. He/She/It just wants to get their hands on your bank account # - and do a reverse transfer.

The same goes for the person who's been greedy/immoral/a bad person all their lives and wants to make up for it by leaving their money to worthy people and causes.

If you have advertised something for rent or sale, and you receive an offer to be overpaid for it via money order (because they are moving and their company has only given them one lump sum or some such), and send them back a check for the remainder of the amount. RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. The money order will look legit, your bank will cash it, and it will be a fake. This will not be discovered til long after you've sent them $2-3000 of your own money via check - and the money order "bounces".

I hate those phishing emails. If people expect them to work, they should at least research before hand that I am but 15 years of age, and do not have a bank account.

What really annoys me most is the lack of good grammar, punctuation etc. And why do they always start keywords with capital letters! It's a travesty!!!

Sorry. The lack of good grammar always makes me want to cry.

If they were spelled correctly, and had good grammar, they would be less likely to be scams.

That's just not true Cat, I know that greedy/bad/amoral/immoral person really did mend their ways & I've been waiting for that money that I know they're going to send me because they promised.

You wouldn't expect a person like that to break a promise now would you ?
