Keeping EXIF Data

I've noticed that all of the camera and author data is missing from my images after they are uploaded. I downloaded one of my recent images and looked for the camera, author and copyright data that was there when it was uploaded and it was all gone. Is there a way to retain that information to help avoid photo ripoffs from other sites. It would also aid in identifying works ripped off so it can be removed with less hassle. Just a thought.

I'm not sure but I think this type of issue was addressed in a thread in one of the other forums.
Something to do with the way the mods have to deal with the images before they are added.

The case of the missing metadata

I'm not sure if the meta-data can be kept for the 'smaller' sizes that the site creates, without finding different scripted software to create them ... but it could be maintained in the full-sized upload by passing that to the user as a copy instead of re-jpegging it, as is happening now
