Sapphire & Gold by Akeraios has been selected as this week's image of the week!

A well balanced palette of colors and lighting creates interest without overwhelming in this digitally created image. This detailed work is well executed and fantastically realistic, and includes small touches such as a butterfly that you might miss blending into the flowers. Even more impressive is the lack of repetition that is sometimes a staple of digital work which includes a lot of small pieces. All combined, it's an attractive image that evokes of a feeling of pleasant wandering.

In other news, there were some really amazing images this week. Originally, there were going to be a couple of honorable mentions, but the list kept growing. We neither wanted to leave anyone out nor have a mile long list, so we're settling for just saying this was a really enjoyable week to look through and thanks to all the artists for their contributions.
