Wow, I think we are taking this hunting for terrorists thing a bit too far!!! I guess now it's open season, so watch out Quail's (Dan perhaps?), buddies, and anyone else not in hunter's orange and announcing your presence!!!
I've been sick and out of it for about 3 days... please tell me this REALLY happened so I can go off in the corner and giggle myself into the looney bin?
lmaoooooooooooooooooo.... i was finally awake enough to see the news.
<snickers to self in the corner>
<gets up, wanders away for water groggily banging into door frame> that woulda hurt if I could feel it
<comes back, sees this again and spits water outta nose @ screen>
darwin awards anybody?
for Lauren:
Q: What's the diff between a dead skunk in the road and a dead lawyer?
A: There are skid marks in front of the skunk
What was heard just before...
Be vewwy vewwy quiet, I'm huntin wobbiests!
Also it should be pointed out that, in the original article on the New York Times web site, Cheney was described as “an accomplished hunter.” A few a hours later, that phrase was changed to “an avid hunter.”
DOH!!!
What if...Cheney, Dubya, Condi, and Rumsfeld...all went hunting as a way to bond??? Only in my dreams!!!
Thanks Cat. Jeez with all his money Cheney couldn't fork over 7 bucks for a license ? It costs more in Ohio for a darn dog license ! And if the Dog catcher grabs up my unlicensed dog while she's out running the neighborhood I'm going to pay a huge fine !
i have to go find an old Tom Lehrer song now… the one where the chorus talks about going out to hunt and coming back with "7 Hunters, 2 Game Wardens, and a Purebred Guernsey Cow"…
Funniest comment I've heard yet: :"If the lawyer than Cheney shot ever runs for President he can use as his campaign slogan: "The buckshot stops here". Heard it on a local Tusla, Oklahoma, radio station early this morning.
I know, but everyone hates me for my views on this government. The rich ands powerful get away with anything they want.. No one to stop them.. They just haev to pay off tehofficials.. Under the table you know. Never where it could be seen or proved.. How do know? My Great Grandfather was a politician
well that's how things always have been ann...if you have money..you have what you want...I don't like it either but idk...it's just been like that since the beginning
So if this lawyer guy doesnt pull through what do you reckon the chances are of the VP facing charges of accidental or reckless manslaughter? you can use nano percentile figures if you see fit :-)
" Not important or newsworthy" ? What does Fox news consider newsworthy ? Since I just heard that Harry Whittington ( the shootee ) suffered a heart attack yesterday ( Tuesday, for those of you in diffrerent time zones, sorry...I always forget ) & that Cheney & his office KNEW before the news conference but chose NOT to reveal the info. The President knew too.
The good news is Cheney is reported to have called Whittington in the hospital to ask if there was anything he needed. What a guy !
Well it was probably a bold and calculated move to get attention off of Bush and his plans to further cut medicare so that he could use that money to fund our "War on Terrorism". Cheney was being a team player, and decided to be the guy to "take one for the team", concocted this plan in which he'd shoot a gazillionare lawyer friend, thereby drawing all the attention to him and away from Bush.
Ok, so perhaps my theory has some flaws...
I hate lawyers, but I hope this guy pulls through. It'd be a crap way to go.
I just heard Cheney & another friend went deer hunting. They came across a set a set of tracks in the snow but couldn't decide if they were deer tracks or bear tracks. While they were arguing about it they were hit by a train.
Despite being accidentally shot in the chest neck and face, a very 'thorough' 5 minute investigation into the shooting by the local sheriff has decided it wont be necessary to press any charges. Oddly.
Bush has said that he approves of the way Cheney has handled this. So see, there is now proof that Cheney was the one who pulled the short straw and sent out to shoot this guy...sorry the quail.
Personally I think the players in Washington, are much more entertaining, than the ones in Hollywood, although it is getting hard to tell the difference, sense they seem to move back and forth a lot..
WTF? why did the the guy who was shot have to apologise on his release from hospital to Cheney for all the hardship and rough time the VP has had over the past few weeks - did the VP get shot in the face as well? world gone mad. again.
Kind of makes me rethink that sympathy card I sent out to the ... I mean ... sent out to "Dick."
As I recall it was worded something like this:
"Ohh, No! ... You Shot Someone in the Face!!!"
The accompanying illustration of the hunting dog looking sheepish beside his master, who was now, without a face ... was, well ... cute. You know how they illustrate these things. :P
