Small Downtown - A chance to see all those little down home little towns. Goes great with going to Grandma's For Thanksgiving! She lives in a really cute downtown.
You know, much as I like silhouettes, I'm thinking that coming right after the chiaroscuro contest might be to invite alot of similarity and sameness to what we've recently had...I think it's time for abit of a departure from that type of thing...I'm going with motion.
It seems to me silhouettes is too similar to the chiaroscuro we just did _ I went for something inside the home since winter is coming here in the U.S and Europe.
Just one thing. An image, drawing or whatever of a single object, no more and no less. Well, no less would be nothing but certainly no more. Perhaps a leaf, flower, iPod, but no other discernible objects in the scene. Inspired by Jq's leaf pictures.
I like the just one thing idea, minimalism is one of my grooves but for this time I voted for motion as it's something I rarely try to capture and I'd appreciate the challenge. As I post it looks like silhouettes is going to win, it has one inherent challenge - to make a truly interesting and original silhouette will be quite hard. It doesn't really float my boat but sometimes those challenges are the ones that get the most out of us, teach us more.

Pat's right, coming after chiaroscuro, silhouettes would probably bring in too many similar looking images. So if fractals wasn't up there, I'd vote for "motion" BUT, guess what ? Fractals it is ! ;oD
Aw c'mon motion fans, let's move it...that little gray bar, I mean...it lends itself to all sorts of challenge and creativity, both real and perceived motion, plus allows participation by all art forms.
I was thinking silhouettes, but it's true...would be very similar to Lines and Chiar.....so I also would like to see the fractals even tho I can't do them, would love to see them.V
Fractals... let the graphics people do all the work! I will be getting ready for Mexico! :o) By the way, you can change your vote... to fractals! :o)
AND Richie... No posts of stuff already posted... unless you are willing to test the judges... but be sure you don't mention that it is a repost in your description. :o)
yes - it would be nice to have a contest with no reposts, member rips, internet rips or offtopic images. but im not particularly holding my breath on any of those things happening :-)
