I was wanting People to win last time. It came in a close second. Maybe this time.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.
As a child, I loved drawings that showed hidden faces or objects that were "hidden". Even now I look at one of my photographs, say a closeup of a tree, and "see" faces or animals made up of combinations of leaves...or would be with just a little adjustment....

As many of the images are "PRETTY", I think showing how an object changes to not so pretty might do it..........

My heart missed a beat, by seeing the topic "people"....wonder what kind of pictures will be posted!
With all my respect to all the family pictures, I am sure they all look lovely, but this is a wall paper site...so puhleze...let the pictures be highly interesting enough for everyone!!

I'm going with Still Life as it has classical imagery roots (In painting and drawing, long before cameras.) for good reason and would challenge us to pay very close attention to the "how" of conveying mood and narrative with technique rather than content. It is a tiny bit more of a challenge for fractalists but not an insurmountable one I think.

Posting this so it doesn't look like we don't answer to the chance to help...
It looks like a change was made, and a logical one at that!... Instead of just UPLOADing an image during the contest, one must UPLOAD and have it posted (made available) by a moderator before one can enter the image into the contest... by clicking on Contests under Navigation. Once you have one or more posts made available by a moderator during the contest period, that click will present you with an entry box where you can enter an image or change your image entry. The contest entry box will be at the top of the list presented to you.
I saw that Laura had already found that entry box... so I posted this only for the reason stated above! :o)

So I've posted a picture of a dreamy looking guy playing his bag pipes.
Looking at the other entries, it seems that most of us have followed suit with a single person in the frame.
But hang on a mo, "People" implies the plural, not a 'portrait' per se.
Might look at up-dating an entry with more than one piper....
