2nd place trixxie17: The link was fascinating to me Raj as I took a lot of Medieval studies and literature in college - a magnificent structure so very well captured.
Constance52347: So this is the field side of the gate, according to Wikipedia, and it was the middle of a series of gates, almost destroyed to make way for a railway line. What a magnificent structure and wonderful entry for the contest!!

3rd place picardroe: Very beautiful shot of the past.
nanadoo: Love this shot! Congrats on your placement in the History contest!
mac39: This one reminds me of the title that one of our Caedes-friends
had given to a similar image of hers: RUST IN PEACE!

4th place
corngrowth: Bob, your country has so much history that you could provide us with pages of entries for the contest. Allowing for just a single entry think that the selection will be pretty hard for you.
This one is indeed an excellent contender as well.
Regards, Cornelius.
5th place icedancer: Wonderful information I also see there is a storm cellar with those slanted doors. This one is my favorite so far Thad, outstanding detail and such gorgeous stone work. Really like the way flowers and the trees frame this beautiful home
