Great Egrets Nesting. This image is the result of what happened to "Little Greedy" In G E N 43. The Fish was too big to swallow and he/she nearly choked to death. It was able to spit it back up and the other little one had a field day with it. Love the expression on its face with that fish stuck in its throat. They feed almost constantly. Their size doubles every 10-14 days. Have A Great Day ! E J

Great capture EJ. The credit card commercial where the punch line is "Priceless," comes to mind. I just can't get over the apathy of the parents in all these shots. It's like they can't wait for the young to leave the nest. The colors are really compatible.

Boy Howdy...I think if any kid of mine had an expression like that on his face, I'd be pounding on their backs until they coughed it up, but then it all worked out in the end with no parental intervention...perhaps there's a lesson in there?

It looks like he's thinking the last words usually heard on a flight recorder. Great capture.

You would think a swift wing across the back would have been in order! Life and nature both seem to have ways to deal with greed. EJ this has been a terrific series so far.

Got more than a double take from me in the booth. :o)

Add in a good laugh as well, as I did not know what was transpiring with the little one. Quite the shocked look, I must say ... and thankfully, can add comical too as everything turned out well for the interested parties.

Good DOF, can literally see where the lines of demarcation start to fade into the background. Good clarity as well.

Curious though, and of course this is without the benefit of having been there ... portrait orientation? Just a thought, no slight intended ... wondering here how that presentation would translate visually ... positively or no, to a composition of the setting and participants.

That said ... nice shot. :o)

What a good shot E J ! The expression of the lil guy is quite unique, with his popped eye - mom doesn't seem concerned at all! And the other baby is probably enjoying the others discomfort. Needless to say, the image is well composed, has good clearness and the colors are lovely. A nice softness to this one, and the background is pure Louisianan :^>

I think this should be Number 01 like the number of The General in Dukes Of Hazzard, Jethro.
I must admit the FDR gives new life to the Egrets.
This shot is unegrettable!!
