I took this picture in the same park as "Catch of the Day". I'm just lucky because I was walking in a shady part of the forest and this huge Dragonfly comes swooping in and lands in front of me. Took a as many shots as I could thou I made the mistake of using a flash instead of a slower shutter speed.

I understand what you mean about the flash, but in some ways it brings out the iridescence look that you might not have gotten without the flash... I guess it's all really a toss up. :)

Excellent capture Chris! They are such beautiful insects - but they move fast - I have yet to capture one!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I like the iridescance you captured with the flash. Makes this different from most dragonfly shots I've ever seen including the few I've been able to capture myself. I like the perspective on this. Nice work.
