I'm sorry but I to found this image to be too depressing. I think justice would have been better done if colour and light had been the theme rather than B&W, which appears to me to be far too sombre. The choice of view is good, but the low quality of the resolution blemishes the photo greatly.
Well, despite the rather nay-saying viewpoints of a few of the comments listed here, I actually really like this picture a lot. Though a tinge depressing, I think it explores a side of life most don't savor. An extreme symbol of hope almost barricaded by solemness, but it still makes itself known. I tihnk the black and white adds that mood key for stirring emotion with this picture. Keep up the good work, impressive.
I think I can almost see the reason for the darkness and the black and white.
Many people see the cross throughout their lives, but it just doesn't mean much to them. It is constantly seen through the blur of their own lives, and the darkness they often times entrench themselves in. Some people see it, and it makes them depressed, because they think that such things are mysterious and unnatainable, and above them in some way. They long for hope and peace, but the world, and hypocritical people have offered them nothing but a distorted view of the Cross's true meaning. It is a sad condition, and a sad thought. This picture captures that feeling very well.
And it makes those of us who know the true value of the cross and Jesus who died on it, and rose three days later, realize that we should present his love and holiness in its true light wherever we go.
Very Interesing Picture, 4 Ever. Very interesting indeed.
