Hey AylA,
Beautiful portrait of a beautiful girl, (~8
I especially like the shadow on the right, the sepia treatment makes it even more special,
Lovely done,
Hi Ayla
Very nice to see You again, how could a man like me criticise an upload of such a beautiful lady ?
You remind me a little of the Scottish singer "Charlene from Texas" she's of Italian origin. I'm blabbering on !! just want to say Your shadow on the white background works well too.
Life's around said Phil the 35 millimetre cameraman. I recently went to the doctors, and said I've got icon fever, but he told me there was no cure for the disease.
Beautiful photo of a beautiful subject. Just think, I passed up the opportunity to be stationed in Turkey in the United States Air Force many years ago. Of course you wouldn't have been around, but maybe your grandmother. Just kidding. Like the tone and shadows.
G'day Ayla,
I think the idea is fantastic and the execution pretty damn good. The silhouette on the wall takes this portrait out of the ordinary and up a level in interest and artistry. The extreme light/shadow works, we haven't completely lost the detail or texture in your right cheek (A little bit more there wouldn't hurt though I think.)and the dark shadows work well with your dark hair. I think you've created a portrait that says something about your inner world, rather than superficially focussing on your natural beauty. Most SELF portraits tend to be girls trying to look pretty or men trying to look macho. You've gone deeper. Good for you. OH, one other thing, at full size the shadow on the wall is very grainy, not sure there's anything you can do about that but it did stand out.
A superior self portrait, in my humble opinion.
Peace,
Mikel.
I love the idea here. It looks like you and your shadow are having a bit of a tift, neither willing to speak or turn and make amends. I hope things are resolved and you're on speaking terms again. =)
this works very well with the lighting, and the shadow.. even if it is hard lighting i just think it fits well with the shot. nice work with this one.. you would be a fun model to shoot.
peace

Just looking around and came across this wonderful sepia toned image. Beautiful! I like the mood expressed - you seen deep in thought. Marvelous shadow display too Ayla : ^ )
