Happened to be driving by this place again yesterday, so stopped and got another shot of it. Just before sunset, thus the colors. And before anyone starts commenting that I should have moved to eliminate the tree, there were electric poles, power lines, etc. to deal with, this was my only avenue to shoot through that was clear of obstacles.

I wasn't gonna say anything about the tree..to me is seemed like it was on purpose taken that way. I does give special feel to the mansion. Great photo all in all! :)

I like this very much and the tree seems organic to the shot.

Good evening, Larry...

You're listed as my comment request; so here we go. I'll try not to be as verbose as the comments above. LOL.

You've photographed a beautiful structure. When I write my critiques, I try to be honest and constructive. Typically I think, "Could I have shot this any better?" My answer is that you probably shot this about as well as I could have. But I'm not all that great at architectural photography; so there's that to consider. From what I can tell, the structure is surrounded by trees; so I'm not sure if a clearer view was accessible. I don't really like the big ol' honkin' tree in the left foreground since it detracts from the subject of the shot. The colors seem good. The focus is good. Considering the cloudless sky, you did a very good job with the light and dark contrast. I like the shadows of the columns on the building, but you can tell the conditions were not ideal unless you're a magician with post photo work. The C-Index of 37 is ridiculously low. I'm not sure if the people in the VB even look at the shots before they vote sometimes. I'd give your shot a solid 5. Maybe a 6 if I didn't have a toothache.

Agreed, you have photographed a magnificent structure and grounds. I disagree with Palral's assessement. I like the big honk'n tree because it add definition to the over-all secene. The light and shadows are excellent!.
