It often happens to me, that I take shots of beautiful buildings here in Vienna, without any history or interesting story behind. I noticed, that many of them are on corners, so I decided to start a series, which I will post now and then. So please enjoy the first one of "The corners of Vienna." I know, I broke a lot of rules about horizontally and vertically lines, but I liked it anyway.

Sabine this is very nice and it is a neat old building. I like your angle on this also adds something to it i think. Sandi

If they look as good as this who cares about rules? lol Awesome looking buildings and an excellent shot of them too Sabine! I bet the view from that top end window would be something!

the lines on this are perfect Sabine - artistic licence to do as you please even if we suggest otherwise! lol! and yes I really like this angle - it is very artistically photographed and it demonstrates just how the buildings have been built to blend in with each other - your architects were geniuses!

I like the lines in this shot. All around, it's a very nice capture. The only thing that bothers me is all the shadow. I look forward to seeing more of this series.

Lovely, architecture and guess what ? The same architecture is typical of Szczecin, old German town I live in - Poland now ...
Many thanks and congratulations on this precious idea, Sabine !!!

never be to hard on yourself regarding rules. rules are there to be broken. besides that rules change over time. a photo is like a painting, and all about a feeling. if your feeling says, this is the shot, well than it is to be so.
this shot turned out darn right Sabine, awefully nicely worked out.

I'm with Kidder on this fantastic piece of work, Sabine. I don't usually add architectural pics to my folder, but this one slipped in all by itself and I'm glad to add her to the 2007 lineup...what a way to start the new year..thanks, my friend...hope this means you are getting around better now :)

The blue sky, the red roof & the white buildings really make a good contrast. Very cool & i like very much the perspective, the building being very close & all... Great work.
Paul

PS. the reflection of the sky in the blue windows is also something to admire :)

Beauty is no quality in things themselves. It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty.

I say rules are made to be broken!! Haha This is another awesome shot, where your perspective makes the picture what it is! This is my new favorite! It has the beautiful architecture, the blue sky and the sunlight that seems to only exist in Vienna - turns everything golden. Diane
