This door, the Michaelertor, is the entrance to Hofburg (Imperial Palace). Expanded over the centuries to accommodate successive whimsical regents, this part of the palace is home to the Spanish Riding School and the Burgkapelle, where the Vienna Boys’ Choir sings Sunday mass.

I can imagine the sound that fills the air when the choirboys sing Sabine!! that combined with the architecture must make this a magical place! You are doing an amazing job promoting your city to the World! Patti

Very nice shot. As always, well focused and crisp. The only thing is that it makes me wanting to see more. Good job.

I really like the way you compose your photos, this is no exception! The detail of the building is great, I agree with bryancito, there is so much to see on this building, that I want more! You know I enjoy the narratives, they are great. I wish I could hear that choir sing and see the inside of this building! Diane

A wonderfull shot you have posted today, the balance is always hard to find if you want to photograph a large buiding in the city what is to large to fit the whole image.
Usualy we can not walk back because of other buildings. You managed to get it just right to get the perfect angle. Not showing all, but showing enough to get the mind interested. The contrast between the lighted windows, and the darker ones gives it a warm glow. Well done Sabine, another winner here.
