The museum building opened in 1889 at the same time as the Kunsthistorisches Museum. The two museums have identical exteriors and face each other across Maria-Theresien-Platz. The Museum was built to house the huge collection of the Habsburgs. The Museum of Natural History in Vienna is one of the important museums of the world, and the earliest collections of artifacts are over 250 years old. See also Art History Museum Vienna.

Well, I think that I have the "bugs" out of this computer. I am using a new (to me) version of PE3 thanks for waiting & I'll try and post more often now. ;-) Steve

amazing and beautiful architecture Sabine! excellent capture! I can see so much detail here. I may be tempted to alter the contrast very very slightly to show more detail, ie shadows, but you did a brilliant job anyway!
