This is the lodge and Cafe we dine in occassionally when at Platoro. Please look closely at the door on the third floor on the right side of the building. There is no stairway to get to the ground. In the winter, when the snow gets deep the winter occupants may have to use that door to get out. They just open the door and ski or snowshoe away. Gets kind of deep once in a while.

The majesty of the mountains, trees and the little bitty things that us humans build amonst them - this is neat, Chuck. And that door, snow that high? Well, sure, just slide down! Great shot!

That's a fair size lodge and it looks lost in just that small section of hillside you took in. Great country ... and I'm wide-eyed over that door you pointed out. That's got to be what? 12ft to 15ft above ground. "KINDA deep"? LOL Nice Posting Chuck ... (KINDA deep he says ... sheesh) LOL

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

The backdrop of those beautiful tall trees, along with the beauty of this "nestled in" place, sure make it a perfect post Chuck. I'll remember to bring the snowshoes ;)

That step looks like a neet place to escape in winter. The Lodge looks like a neet place to visit any time. I have forgotten what snow looks like all we get is grey slushy stuff.

Thanks for showing us part of your world.
