Trees are just starting to turn golden in this serene capture aren't they. Love the composition with the tree turnk on the right and little bushes on the bottom. The lake is peaceful and quiet, no wonder you titled it the way you did. An outstanding post Chuck and so glad you shared it.

The composition here, Chuck, again gives us a wonderful view. The framing on the right with the lovely dark tree with its branches extending over the scene provides a solid visual for us to enjoy while our eye travels to the left with a more "wide open" view of the shrubbery in the foreground, festooned with red berries and the lake with the sun highlighting and lightening the ripples, then leading us to those wonderfully vertical aspects of the evergreens in the background. This works well, complimenting the composition with the vertical aspect creating a palpable tension between that and the horizontal subject of the lake. I rather like the depth of field this all represents, and indeed it does give us the sense of a quiet mountain lake, however, even though I realize and appreciate the fact that Fall is working her miracle of color on the aspens in the background, and perhaps even in the foreground with the shrubs, I think that there is a bit of overexposure on the light aspects, perhaps due to standing in the shade while looking out to where the sun is a bit stronger, as I'm also picking it up in the background on the small open areas and also to the left on that little rise just beyond the water. Unfortunately, IMHO, it takes away from the overall clarity, but it's still a brilliantly composed upload, and I like it very much. Well done, my friend :)PJ

Beautiful lake Chuck! I really like the tree in the foreground & the little touch of red on the wildflowers near the lake! It looks so quiet & peaceful there..maybe a boat with a fisherman (you!!) with a rowboat in the lake would add even more to this!

Everything about this photo is pleasing, Chuck; I especially like the tree framing the scene. Good one! It's easy to feel like I'm standing where you were when you shot this.

Another beauty. Perfect lighting. Another keeper. The tree branches in the forground are awesome. The touch of red in them really stands out and caps off the composition. The water has been captured to perfection as well I like the bare tree branches hanging down into the compsoition from the top right. The big tree trunk is colorful and detailed. You are hitting your stride my friend. Professional work all the way.

nice naturaly framing with the tree on the right and above and the bushes on the bottom left

the colours are lovely esp on the distant shore
the colour reflected in the water picks up an otherwise slightly dull patch of h2o
nice 3 main layers in the horizontal with the distant shore perfectly placed
a tiiiiny bit over exposed but not a biggie PS could bring that back in line
oh and nearly forgot intelligent use of flash to bring out some detail in the foreground tree and bushes if indeed you did use a bit of fill in

super shot really well put together
