Jorge Alfaro (Inti)... the music man at Chemainus! He is the main reason I like Chemainus. And he was still there. I had last seen(heard) him maybe 5 years ago... same spot - in the park with the amphitheatre just below the tourist center at the center of Chemainus. He plays various flutes and this guitar. I was not far away from him in this picture... but I decided to save you the pain and crop me and other uninteresting items from the picture... my wife took it... Jorge immediately recognized that my wife wanted a pic of us so he moved in for the pose without need for request. Thank-you Jorge! Jorge Alfaro - playing guitar & flutes at Granville Island If you ever have a chance... get one of his cds... I have two... 'Light Into My Life' and 'Reflexions'! I would say that it is probably best to get his cds directly from him... if possible!  :o)   And yes... I'll be returning to murals with the next few posts!

Nice clear shot, Con.

Focus and clarity are good good.

Curious, what do you think about employing some vignetting to temper/mitigate some of the other equipment hanging about on stage?

Just some creative food for thought.

Colours look great. Good good skin tones, too. And this in light of the challenging lighting conditions.

And but of course, thank you for sharing this personal performance side of Jorge. :o)

Good food for thought... I just may give it a go... later when I have more time... Yes! Even we retired folk have a shortage of this commodity on occasion. :o)

Edit:  Needless to say... should anyone wish to give me an example of what may be done... please do so! If you feel you need more of the image, do not hesitate to let me know.  :o)

I think the image as is, tells a lot. The amp rack on the cart and instruments in improvised cases probably all stack together to roll on to the next venue. Thanks for posting this.

I thought I had all the answers, but it turns out I don't even know the questions. -Stephen Prothero (paraphrased)

I don't know whether this is a suggestion to me or a rebuttal to Les' suggestion... but

Just a caution... ONE must always pay heed to Les' words... each and every one of them! He did use temper/mitigate not obliterate... also he did ask me what my opinion would be re. the use of vignetting.
And with this reply comes a request for a PM with info (&/or link) re. a freeware vignetting program that allows one the freedom of grabbing and moving portions of the vignetting... to, for example, be sure that his amp is not removed from the scene! :o)

When I readied this image for posting, my thoughts went this way... get me out of here then eliminate lots of empty space. Not once did I think of enhancing the presentation. I am one who is of the opinion that if I don't like it... change it (to my liking!)... but that is not the idea of this site... Caedes is/was built to help people become better photographers... and part of a photographer's job is to enhance the image he captures. When choosing a photographer for a wedding, the couple always ask to see the work... never the equipment!  :o)

Fine shot and thanks for the link too. The music reminds me of some I heard at the Crazy Horse memorial on a visit to South Dakota one time. Beautiful and so very in touch with nature.
