It's called Naked Lady around here, because it grows up on tall stems without any leaves.

Connie, I looked hard to find where you cloned, and I could not see any trace, and the color of this lovely is wonderful, kudos on a nice job of editing. tigs=^..^=

Lovely color tones on the lilies well brought out by the green background. Good depth of field too. Good editing and the result is really beautiful Connie.

Connie, you've captured this 'Naked Lady' perfectly. The tone by this well chosen background suits by the 'portrait' of this 'lady', enhancing 'her' beauty. Well done, my friend!

They're called surprise lilies around here because they just come up wherever - nice capture of them Connie - I like the very light pink color.

It's a good thing you didn't include the name on the flower in the title or the Caedes cops would raise an eyebrow. :) Nice capture of this beautiful bloom.

Another nicely composed image.

Wonderfully natural colour and well done on the exposure side of things.

Caveats?

None really.. just some editing suggestions (and nitpicking, really). To try and for comparative purposes to see which suit your eye better.

A Curves adjustment.. would make your image here 'pop' a little more. As the lighting is somewhat subdued. This might be the case of six of one, half dozen of another and personal taste.

Perhaps, some.. some, that is.. sharpening?

Here is a couple of articles/tutorials on the method I prefer to use and to give you an overview of the various methods of sharpening:

"Selective Sharpening Using High Pass in Adobe Photoshop"

"Guide to Image Sharpening - Cambridge in Colour"

And for Photofiltre:

"Photofiltre Tutorials"

(/\ Approximately half way down the above linked page is a guide/some screenshots of where and what the 'sharpening' controls/option is located/looks like.)

... ...

Some food for thought on the note of possible other image editing software:

"The Best Photoshop Alternatives That Are Totally Free"

If you do decide to give one of these a try, remember.. google is your friend. Use search terms such as.. "Name of Software".. plus whatever it is you are trying to achieve, i.e. "Sharpening".. to locate some online tutorials or forum discussions for some tips and help.

... ...

Downloaded your image here and applied philcUK's tutorial; "Faking the HDR thing..."

As well as.. some sharpening via the High Pass Sharpening Method.

Here are the results: "In the Pink - Shadows/Highlights Adjusted | High Pass Sharpening"

The sharpening alone accomplished enough added brightness that employing the other technique might have been superfluous.

This is great! I did compare your image with mine, and the sharpening did brighten it. That's a new one to me.

Thanks so much for all this material, which I need to take the time to study. And thanks for the input!
