This is a beautifully marked dog. The head (eyes, ears, chest and shoulder markings are great.
The problems with the photograph are cut off feet and hind quarters, light branch coming out of his head, and a thicker dark one in front oh his chest. The branches can easily be cloned over as well as what's showing of the collar.
Cropped to the distinctive markings of the head, chest and shoulders, it makes a beautiful portrait.
Had this been a complete body photo, there should be much more picture in his direction of gaze/interest and only a small portion in front of his chest. All the attention goes in the direction of gaze or movement of the subject
Regardless of the technicalities, it's a high impact pose.
With your photo on the screen, just put your hand up and block the area in front of his chest(the Left side of screen) to get an idea of how much more impact is actually there with the help of a crop or initial composition.
