Time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment, because it will never come again. (Patrick Stewart, "Star Trek: Generations") .......

Oh Boy, got any carsick pills..lol. ;0) What a fantastic desert vista you have captured here. The curves of the road add so much interest to the image. Well done!
This photo answers the age-old question about canyons and cliffs; "how do we get down there?" The colors and shade contrast are good but the tilt detracts from the overall image just a little; I have been guilty of this as well. Good composition though. Looking forward to seeing more...
AlthoughI would have liked to have seen more of the road winding back and forth and less opof the flat land, this is still a great image. For some odd reason I actually like the lack of definition between the distant land and sky. Nicely done.
To All Please read
This is a great and dear picture for me to come across.
This picture is not and should not be titled The Valley Of The Gods. That "ACTUAL" place is at the bottom of this trecherous hill and 17 more miles down a side road of which I couldn't visit when I went there in 2002.
You all should download this picture , It's excellent & thank this Photographer.
I give all the thanks in the world to him because I was there, I went down that road you see and believe me, I'll never, never forget that ride EVER.
Scariest thing ever, But oh my god, WORTH IT. That's what's so amazing about this particular hill. (I'll do it again too)
IT's WORTH THE VIEW YOU WILL SEE THE VERY 1ST TIME TOU SEE INTO MOUNMENT VALLEY. Unbelievable. If you have never been there, Come to it this way,
Your 1st look from "this road" at the 1st stop you can make coming down ( to get your nerve BACK or turn around ) can only be matched by the Grand Canyon, I've been there too.
Before you die, use your last penny and GO HERE.
I took thousands of pictures on a around the USA trip
but this view of this road I didn't get but have always tried to explain. I took many pictures of it as I was making my way down it.
Again, Before you die, GO HERE.
Road, 15 mph speed limit, 5 mph speed limit on curves. (Those speed limit signs lie) Trailers, large vechiles, Trailers and anything bigger than a truck are warned not to go this route.
Steepness, HA I'm sorry to say but even THIS picture don't do justice to it's actual steepness. I WENT DOWN IT TOO FAST AT 4 MPH - BELIEVE ME. 3 mph is too fast
Road is very slippery & bumpy, It's made of gravel that about a half inch in diameter and It's smoothness is as now decribed - Kind of run down bulldozer TREADS with that gravel on it, the steepness of a house roof, and you can't see the side of the road, just emptness below. I went down it in a 30th Yr. Anniversary Trans Am. I couldn't go down the road into "The Valley Of The Gods" at the bottom of this road. You need a truck to do that, have extra tires and water when you do. I going back there in 2007 and go down that road to The Valley Of The Gods.
I'm the same name posted here at Aol, contact me there and I can send you many high res pictures of this road and my ride though Mounment Valley.
Look for some of my pictures here soon in the automobile & landscape sections.
Great Picture, I thank you so very much for taking it, It shows that this hill and road is REAL., I can prove it now,
Mine are taken from the road and they don't show the true steepness as well as yours.
I get dizzy looking at this. I have found myself on some treterous roads with an 18 wheeler where I could see the back of my trailer going around some of the curves (Hoover Dam) but this takes the cake. Glad I never knew about it. I would be dumb enough to try it. Great shot.
Pat
I like the harsh terrain!
Good work :)
