Another shot from the Halifax Public Gardens. This is a duck pond that is surprisingly free and clear of ducks. But, if you look carefully you can actually see one out of focus in the shot. Any other time you'd be mobbed by them looking for handouts that clearly posted signs tell you not to feed them. So lacking frolicking ducks to photograph, I present to you this scene in its place. Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

I wondered what had happened to the Queen Mary! I think I can see the duck hiding behind one of the astilbes. Looks a nice place to be, Wendell.

I like how the astilbe frames the opening for that gigantic ship!
It's really a lovely scene - looks like my kind of place.

Someone must have yelled duck and they did, Wendell. I feel like I am trespassing from the vantage point you chose. Good shot and colors.

Wendell - A big pond to hold this ocean liner! lol The astilbe in the foreground and trees in the background surround this pond. Lovely gardens. Thad

I see from the small boat in the pond, it was your inspiration for the title, Wendell :) A really lovely capture of the gardens and pond! I especially like the fiery Astilbes in the foreground, and all the lush greens about! Beautiful work!

Hi, Wendell....

I see ducks in duck ponds every day. But how often do I see an ocean liner in a duck pond? I'll tell you how often...never. And why would they tell you not to feed the ducks at a duck pond. It makes just as much sense to put up a sign to tell tell the ducks "No Ducks Allowed".

You have some great colors in this shot. As always I love the simple green foliage - maybe because nothing in San Luis Obispo County is green except for maybe a few Cal Poly students that drank too much. The reds and oranges are delicious.
